Planting in January

DaffodilEven though it’s January, you can still plant your daffodils and take your tulips from the vegetable crisper and plant them for a beautiful color show in upcoming months!

Unfortunately, planting vegetable plants will have to wait a month or two longer, but if you still want to provide yourself with fresh and tasty food from your own garden, try focusing on herbs this month. The Hyams Bedding Area has a large assortment of herbs from rosemary, parsley, thyme, cilantro, etc (except for basil) that can help give you the satisfaction of growing your own food during January. If you’re still itching to begin your vegetable garden, take a look at the Clemson Extension’s page to help you begin planning for the upcoming year.
